Quinn’s Tribute to the Queen

Richard Quinn’s Tribute to the Queen

The somber news of the passing of Elizabeth II, Queen of the United Kingdom, was followed by uncertainty about the continuation Of the highly anticipated London Fashion week. Just 10 short days after, Richard Quinn rolled out 22 incredible looks paying tribute to the late queen. With the help of a team of 26 working long hours Richard Quinn successfully realized his vision and goal to fully express the melancholic emotions held over many of the mourners.

Richard Quinn is a 32-year-old London Designer. In the infancy of his career, Quinn collected many awards including the H&M Design Award for his graduate collection in 2016. Among the many accolades received, Quinn was also the first recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design in 2018. His 2018 fall/ winter collection was the first and only fashion shows the queen attended.

The appreciation for the Queen’s small but grand gesture at the start of his career was apparent in this last-minute collection. The garments consist of embellished capes, laced veils, and exaggerated silhouettes. A truly remarkable execution for a last-minute addition to Quinn’s original planned looks.

It was hard to choose, but I managed to put together a collage of my favorite looks and pieces from Richard’s Quinn Spring/Summer 2023 collection. Photos were taken by Daniele Oberrauch for VogueRunway.
